It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

Well, sort of. The grass is green and half the time we’re walking around outside in sweatshirts, but the people pushing and shoving in lines at the stores and fighting over parking spots really brings out the spirit of the season.

For the past 2 days, my kitchen has been buried in Christmas cookies. I finally finished baking last night, but I still have a little clean-up to do. My online time…heck, my time for anything but baking…has been limited, and I can’t wait to spend a lot of the day curled up on the couch with a book. Except I still have a whole days’ worth of shopping ahead of me, and then there’s the wrapping. Is it just me, or is this the most time-consuming thing about the holidays? It seems to be neverending sometimes.

It’s actually really cold this morning. Waking up to it was sort of a shock–it was almost 50 degrees yesterday, and a few days ago we hit close to 70. My oldest son is a little upset that we won’t have a white Christmas this year, but I’m fine with it.

Writing-wise, I’ve just had no time. Today, I need to log in at least a couple hours at the computer. I have a book to finish and another book to do some revisions on before the weekend, and then I’ll be taking a few more days off. Next week, the kids are home from school, and we’re planning a movie day.

When you have a day off, what do you like to do?

By the way, I also have a post up at Ghost Writers today. It’s about what makes a book a page-turner. Check it out if you get the chance!
